How and Why You Want To Drain and Upgrade Your Sump Plate on BSA and Triumph Classic Bikes

May 26th 2017

Frank hears a lot of people gripe about their classic british motorcycles "leaking oil all over the place" and as he puts it, "that's just not true." Neglecting these wonderful antique bikes by letting them sit for long periods of time without a nice ride (or at least starting up the engine for a bit) causes the oil to eventually drain to the bottom of the engine, overfilling into the breather and running out of it onto the floor.

If your classic BSA or Triumph motorcycle is going to sit for a long period of time in storage, Frank recommends draining the oil out. Watch this short video that tells more about it and also let's you know about the upgraded SRM sump plates with a built-in drain plug (available for most BSA and Triumph models.)

We apologize for the rough video quality - being a YouTube star is still new to us older guys! We'll get it together....
